Mallow Free Driving Test Route

A turn-by-turn practice route from the Mallow test centre. Follow it locally before test day.

From Mallow test centre, depart along Navigation Road and take your 1st right, still on Navigation Road

Continue ahead and then take the next left, following Navigation Road for roughly 1.5km

Take another left and stay with Navigation Road for a further 1.5km before you reach a quieter unnamed stretch

Keep your speed steady and check mirrors regularly on these longer straights

Carry on straight as the road becomes Quartertown Road for nearly 2km continue straight onto an unnamed road for a short distance

After roughly another kilometre, bear left to join the R620 and follow it for about 1km

Turn right onto Cork Road take your 1st right onto the L9045, and 1st right again into Gooldshill Housing Estate for a short residential section

Coming back out of the estate, take a slight right within Gooldshill, then at the end of the road turn left onto the L9045

Turn right onto Cork Road and follow it as it becomes Ballydaheen and then Bridge Street heading into Mallow town

Take extra care with pedestrians and parked cars along this built-up stretch

Turn right onto Spa Walk left onto Muddy Hill

At the end of the road turn right onto New Road

Left onto Fair Street, and take your 1st right onto Bowling Green

Continue left along Bowling Green turn right into Chapel Lane and left onto Mallow North Urban for a brief pull-in

Departing again take the right onto the unnamed road and complete a U-turn where directed

Take the next left, left again onto Chapel Lane, and left onto Rock Road

Follow Rock Road for about 270m, take a slight left

Left into Lacknalooha, and right onto Beecher Street

This section tests junction observation and low-speed control at the roundabout

Take the exit left onto New Road and follow it for around 500m

At the next roundabout take the exit onto Navigation Road and stay on it for roughly 2.5km as you head back toward the test centre

Turn left onto the unnamed access road, take one more left, and pull in on the right to finish the route back at Mallow
